Glen Elgin 12 Year Old 43% 70cl

Glen Elgin distillery was built in 1898, but after the collapse of the commercial whiskey distillery was in production until 1901. After many closures by crises and wars, in 1964 the distillery was completely rebuilt. There are now still in the house three wash stills and three spirit stills that are heated by steam.

For the fermentation, there are six wash backs. There are almost exclusively refill casks for the maturation of the new spirit is used. The water for the preparation of the malt takes you through a pipeline from the nearby sources of Millbuies Loch. The water for the condensers comes from a lake, which is artificial.
